Hello everyone,
I am new to futures trading - wondering if any of you had any advice on opening a Brokerage Account with a reliable firm.
Regards,
Finding a Broker
Frank,
If you want a full service account (where you can, say email or phone orders to your brokers for execution during US daytime and next o'night) then I would recommend
Fox Futures (Kevin Riordan) or
Attain (Jeffrey Eizenberg)
I am sure the yp's firm is also fine.
If you want direct entry (to electronic markets only including futures and stocks) at the lowest possible price (but lousy personal service) then many people seem to use Interactive Brokers. I use them as well and there are some great order entry tools out there that put automatic targets and stops in with your orders.

Only electronically traded contracts can be traded at IB. Some electronic
contracts are not available to my knowledge. eg. Access Copper.
No Pit Traded contracts of any kind are offered.
It would seem they don't go to much effort to disclose this fact to
prospective customers.
Great for stocks and Globex Curriences, RT only $4.70
This has been the only negative I have found with IB
I wish they had all futures available.

Also see if there is any hidden cost
Some brokers will add a transaction fee under your nose for extra profits. So if you do start a account and do a trade look at all your fees. Also find out if you pay fees+commisson or is your total commisson is all inclusive excluding fees. To find out if any brokers have any infractions or violations go to http://www.nfa.futures.org/, you may want to stay away from brokers with violations.
