Man Group/MF Global
A less than glorious float on the NYSE today for the spin off of Man's brokerage unit. Price reduced to $30 from a proposed $36 to $39 and trading at $28 when I last looked.

Yes I wonder if they have ever asked their users what they think of it. Last time I tried for a job in the industry I couldn't get an interview yet somebody got paid to make that junk. It turns me off ever writing code for a living. The jobs go to those who can write the best bullshit on their resume.

I've been using their software from the start and I couldnt agree more. We constantly complain and make suggestions for upgrades and improvements on deaf ears. The old Refco platform that Man took over is no better. The OEC platform is the coolest online trading platform I've seen yet. Lets hope someones listening.

Oh I understand that......problem is with the advent of "creative accounting", off balance sheet vehicles and other such tools they are able to "legally" get around the ideas of being transparent.
There in lies the problem with a lot of similar corporate frauds and scandals - its generally done via complicated accounting practices.....hence I blame the accountants for all the worlds woes!
2+2=4 but if we hide 12 off in an offshore account, get a tax rebate of 6, leverage that up to 100 using 1 from the 4 and then park the risks and liabilities in the UK, that 2+2=120. , util the original provider of the 2 asks for their money back.
If you provide a bunch of safe cracking tools to a group of individuals it probably wont take long for the group to be made up of thieves.
But enough of this bitching and moaning

I believe the reason I can't find it is that that sub-board is now customers only.Roger Rines wrote:I suspect this is what you were looking for: MF Global (<- Link)stopsareforwimps wrote:Can't see the old thread

Recent MF Global activity might have been better placed in the Brokers section where you posted, but with the outrage most of us were feeling at the time, the need to vent the about the theft was stronger than the librarian need of putting things in a place where it would be related by topic.stopsareforwimps wrote:[SNIP]

Still, with all the ranting and angst that has followed since, it has surely been a serious "Diversion", with little entertainment value.
Consider looking in this forum section:
Trader's Roundtable Forum Index -> Diversions and Amusements (<-- Link).
MF Global thread is the second item in the list as of this posting, and I believe this section is an open topic in the forum, but if it isn't, it would be good to know that as well.

"The forum you selected does not exist."
I interpret this to mean I don't have access to the forum.
